Scope: Grid application (Ausnet) Construction drawings Protection Switchboard Supply and Commissioning.
Timeframe: Preliminary Phase: 11/2016 – 03/2017 Design Phase: 04/2017 – 10/2017 Construction Phase: 11/17 – 04/18 System Commissioning: 04/18-05/18
Project Goals: To install the second stage of Nature’s Organics’ 1.3MW rooftop solar system.
Project Challenges: Fitting 700kW of panel capacity on a 80m x 80m roof space while installing around existing sky-lighting. Coordinating with Nature’s Organics’ switchboard supplier to integrate the 1000A Solar Main Switch into the site’s new MSB.
Project Results: The use of Trina TSM-DDO5A 300W high efficiency modules with a max power density of 183 W/m2 allowed the installation of 700kW of PV modules without installing over any skylights on the newly constructed building. The 2 stages combined place the installation as the third largest rooftop system in Australia as of May 2018.
